New Last Name…New House…LOTS of Decorating!

As most of you know, I am no longer Whitney Owen but Whitney Nixon!  Will your business name change? (lots of people ask this)  The answer is no.  I started my business Whitney Owen Designs and it will stand strong.

I returned to Indiana late Friday (July 1st) night.  It was so surreal to finally be at home with Eric.  We have been mostly apart this entire year so it was pretty bittersweet.  I have been busy trying to get our house in order but there is SO much left to unpack….I think we have touched about 15% of it.  Whew!  Lots to do.  Eric got me up and going electronically in my office so I can respond/design/edit/surf etc etc although I am not fully back to operational mode.  It was tough not having the access to the internet world but it has been nice to put that down for a little bit.

We spent the 4th unpacking/putting away but I enjoyed it.  By the time I saw some fireworks, my eyes were killing me so I couldn’t look at them too long.  I didn’t want to have a migraine so I went back inside.  I think the room that is the closest to being fully operational is the kitchen.  I have thoroughly enjoyed throwing away the old (some is going to Goodwill) and putting out the new.  FUN!!!!!!!  We got a new fridge on Saturday and it will be delivered today!  Yay! See picture below….

Our old fridge is leaking something very smelly so it is out in our garage.  We wanted to have a second one for drinks etc but not with the way that smells.  Pee eew!  It is being hauled off when the new one arrives.  I can’t wait for it to fit in its new space.  🙂  Then we need to get some real groceries so I can use all these new, wonderful cookbooks I received for wedding gifts!  I will try to share those with everyone.

Speaking of sharing….would anyone like to see before and after pictures??  It has been quite some time since I last did any interior design work so we will see if I still know what I am doing.  Let me know if you want to see by commenting below….

Gotta run…Eric is home for lunch!  Toodles!

Whitney…Of course, you should know that I would love to see before and after pictures. I love everything you do. You have so many awesome ideas. Love you, Mom

  • Thanks, Mom!! It is going to be a slow process but that is okay. I think the hardest part will be deciding what to hang and where to hang it. Ha! I got the flower bug the other day when I visited Home Depot. I never really cared to look…mainly because I have only rented in the past so it didn’t really seem logical to get flowers etc. You even received a little sneak peak from me the other day on the kitchen. Lucky lady! Love you!
