Personal – My Home {The Entryway} :: Part 2

It took us awhile…a long while to get things unpacked and put away.  We threw away lots and also donated lots of stuff.  We…well I have lots of stuff and it still amazes me at how much I have accumulated since I was in college.  Simply nuts!  C’est la vie!  My brother, Adam, was working in Illinois around Thanksgiving and he and his crew got a call that they couldn’t go home for Thanksgiving.  BIG BUMMER!  BUT…I found out about this and called to tell him to come see us.  He assumed we were going home but we were not able to.  We were about five hours apart so this worked perfectly for him as they were going to make their way to Buffalo, New York right after Thanksgiving.  It was sorta, kinda on the way.  I cannot even express in words how excited I was that Adam was coming to spend Thanksgiving with us.  I hadn’t seen any of my family in several months so I was pretty pumped.  This also got me moving into high gear on getting my house ready for company.  Plus, we had scheduled a game night with our friends, Aaron and Tammie & Corey and Hillary for the Saturday following Thanksgiving so I really had to get things presentable.

I will hold everyone in suspense for a little longer on my workspace.  😉  So, we shall begin with the entryway.  Now, I may shock some of you in that I did an off-white on white color scheme throughout most of the house.  I wanted my color to come from furniture, textiles and accessories.  I have been toying with the idea of painting but really unsure if I really want to right now.  Here you go!………

    I love it! I would feel so welcome and exicted if I were to step through your front door and into your house. You have a wonderful sense of style. I can see several things that we came across together during many of our antique and junking trips. They each hold special memories of our times together. I will be anxiously awaiting the next blog post. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • Hi Ms Whitney . . . Love your style! I see that you and I have a LOT in common. Some time I’ll have to send you pictures of my house, so we can compare notes! I’ve always wanted an old house too! I had one, but it was too big, so we had to down size–so I know what you mean about getting rid of stuff. Thanks for sharing this wonderful journey with us!
